Time for another weekly update on The Grid Glitch. I'm a bit pressed for time this week, though, so I'll keep it brief.
However, I am happy to announce that our game has reached the Beta phase. That means that we only about three more weeks left to work on it. Exciting times ahead.
Art Implementation
A lot of effort this week into implementing as much art as possible before making the Beta build.
For instance, the last of the Glitch models were finally added, as were new Containers that contain additional Glitch Units for the player to collect. We also finally removed the "programmer-art" versions of the Buttons and Gates.
We also updated a lot of the UI in our game to match our target theme. Above, you can see our new Main Menu, which is now designed like a live news broadcast of the Glitch invasion. Similar updates were also made for the Pause Menu and the Level Complete screen. The Level Complete screen also has a new feature where the player is ranked based on how well they completed the level.
All of this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what's new in the Beta Build this week. If you want to check it out for yourself, you can download the Beta build from here. You know how it goes at this point. Same rules still apply from earlier.
