Being so simple, Snake has so much potential for growth (pun slightly intended). But where to start? Well, our initial idea was to make it so that, instead of instantly killing you if you mess up, your tail instead breaks apart and runs away to different parts of the board.
The idea was the length of your tail also served as a kind of health bar. If you ran into your tail, you lost a chunk of your health and if you crashed into a wall, you lost all of your health. The pieces of your tail that broke off would then run away and scatter to different parts of the board, where you collect pick them back up again. Crashing into a wall with no extra health would then result in a game over.
On paper, this sounded like a good idea, but...
We soon realized that it would become almost impossible to lose if you played long enough unless you tried to do it on purpose. We decided to shelve this idea for now. What a shame...
If you really think about it, this whole concept was really weird...
