Today's Learning Unreal post is the third part of a mini-sub series about my experiences with Unreal's Render Target system. You can find the previous part on creating snow trails here.
Today, I'm showing off a tool that simulates grass that reacts to the player as you walk through it. As always, if you want to recreate this tool for yourself, you can find the original tutorial here.
In the bottom right corner, you can see a visualization of the render target that gets painted as I run through the grass. That then gets used to determine how much the grass in that location should get deformed. Over time, the paint on the render target fades away, and the grass stands back up.
Surprisingly, we're nearing the end of the general Learning Unreal series. What a journey it has been.
