Continuing the trend from the last blog post, today's post is the beginning of another series where I learn another new skill. This time, I'm learning music theory with the hopes of being able to write my own music one day.
To do this, I'm following Ableton's interactive "Learning Music" course, starting with the chapter on beats, which you can find here. Using what I learned from this lesson, I created a simple sample beat.
It's simple. It's short. It's a start. And, as this series continues, this will be the starting beat that I continue to build off of until it finally becomes something the actually resembles a piece of music.
Also, the audio visualizer used in the video above is something I built in Unreal Engine. You can make one yourself by following the steps in this video.
The end goal is to have this eventually become a battle theme in a game of mine.
